Evapotranspiration - Ground Heat Transfer
Posted by Linda Lawrie on 02 December 2010 06:14 PM
Neither the basement nor slab preprocessor model moisture transfer in the soil, the evapotranspiration model assumes that the actual moisture conditions are such that the maximum potential evapotranspiration will occur (i.e the ground is always moist and approaching the ambient wetbulb temperature). For hot, dry climates this can have dramatic effects on the heat transfer. We recommend keeping evapotranspiration OFF unless you are modeling in a climate where you believe that the ground surface will be consistently moist.
